Diane Montagna’s translation of
Pope Francis’s
General Audience in St. Peter’s Square yesterday speaks of the temporal nature of this life and the hope of the hereafter. Amidst our activity we do well to consider from time-to-time of the "big picture" and to know that despite the many challenges which life throws at us, our Lord and Christ has an ultimate ending which is filled with benevolence, acceptance and goodwill—ultimately, love!

Rick Fitzgibbons’ piece:
Risks to Couples in Same-Sex Unions offers insight as to the many physical and psychological risks associated with lesbian and gay relationships. The Church has come under enormous pressure to back away from its traditional teaching (the teaching of Holy Scripture) on this matter but we must remind ourselves that nothing can help those in need more effectively than the truth and that the guardian of "truth" is Christ Himself and His Spirit who, we are told, guides us in all truth. And the truth is—while God loves every single person on the face of His earth, He has clearly communicated His will regarding sexual relations. Indeed the sexual component of our lives is something which we should "offer" to God in sacrifice and in return for which He blesses us with His way of expressing this—through a devoted, loving union covenanted in marriage and which relationship serves (in shadow form) as a "type" of that glorious marriage which is to take place at the end of the age in which those who love God are wedded to Him.

Memo to the Guardian:
Pope Francis is not ageist or sexist—(Unfortunately both the London Guardian and Independent are often obliquely anti-Catholic and anti-Christian. I’ve accepted it as one of those crosses one has to bear. My real concern though is for the negative impact their slant may have on those who are searching for the truth)

Ten sins that we now take less seriously—(If issues such as those listed in this article "offend" you and you get the feeling that being a Christian is about a long list of do’s and don’ts, then go right ahead and do what you want, God won’t stop you because He’s not a God that forces people. However, if you love God, if you have reverence and respect for Him, you will naturally do those things which are right and appropriate. This is a good piece and comes with my recommendation)

Trying to write God out of creation: How a well-funded organization is seeking to enforce evolutionary ideas upon the Church—(Will these people never give up! "Give it your best shot" is my response. Of all the cockeyed theories floating around our world none seems more ridiculous to me than that of evolution. If you’ve never read a handful of really good studies debunking this satanic theory then you owe it to yourself to do so. In the meantime, as a sort of appetizer, you can watch
