One young woman’s choice for life and the people who helped her do it.Janessa was 19 when she found herself pregnant, alone, and overwhelmed. She found help at Aid for Women—an outreach to women in the Chicago metropolitan area who find themselves in difficult and unplanned pregnancy situations. Founded in 1978 on the faith and teachings of the Catholic Church, Aid for Women provides clients with confidential counseling, support, and resources to help them choose life. Janessa’s story shows how practical help and emotional support allows vulnerable women to become loving, independent, successful mothers.
