This haunting rendition of the Our Father is sung by Father Seraphim and his choir from Qanda, Georgia, in Aramaic. The parish is part of the Assyrian Orthodox Church, a Syriac Church which today encompasses northern Iraq, north eastern Syria, south eastern Turkey and north western Iran. It claims continuity with the Church of the East, but unlike most churches that trace their origins to antiquity, the modern Assyrian Church of the East is not in communion with the Eastern Orthodox or the Catholic Church. The Chaldean Catholic Church, an offshoot of the Assyrian Church of the East, broke off from them and joined the Catholic Church, and its members are also ethnic Assyrians.
