Pope Francis shares that he watched a program with a missionary priest in Haiti, and pleas: Let's not abandon them!

Pope Francis noted again the suffering of the people in Haiti, after he prayed the midday Angelus on October 31.

The Pope mentioned the flooding in Vietnam, and then turned his thoughts to Haiti, offering a very personal, and concrete appeal:

Last August, the Pope donated 200,000 euros to help the victims of the earthquake, which hit the country hard after the earthquake of nine years ago that still has not been fully recovered from.

During the Angelus of August 15, the Holy Father also called for solidarity to "mitigate the consequences of this tragedy."

On October 30, the Pontiff received an update from Bishop Vincenzo Paglia, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, who went to Haiti as part of a visit to the Caribbean, from October 12 to 20.
