Lent begins tomorrow, and as many of consider how to make it a rewarding experience in the face of the ongoing sacrifices we are already making, it can be edifying to look at traditional Lenten practices and take inspiration from them.

Ireland is one place in the world where there are strong traditions associated with Lent.
